Our History

Witness Ministries first began as the youth group of Zion Baptist Church. It was founded in August 27, 2009 by Joshua Das, Stephen Rupon, Mukta Tripura, Jason Sharma, Priyo Khyang, Smriti Tripura and Nathaniel Biswas. Under the guidance and supervision of the church leadership, Pastor Jewel Mazumder, presided the meeting and the youths were elected and recommended wholeheartedly by Zion Baptist Church to lead the youth ministry in its initial year. Over the years the executive leadership had changes as people left and new people were elected each year.

As Witness Ministries grew, developed and increased its influence it was agreed by the advisors and the church body that it would be best to make Witness Ministries independent.  After many thoughtful prayers, discussions and meetings, Witness Ministries was made independent in January 27, 2012 although it continued to have affiliation with Zion Baptist Church of Chittagong and the Baptist denomination. Formally, on June 3, 2018 Witness Ministries was registered with the Bangladesh government as a separate entity as a religious, charitable, and social oriented trust.

We marvel how the ministry has grown and prospered. Today, Witness Ministries is a proud Christian mission organization working under the guidance of an advisory board. Witness Ministries has staff located in a number of countries. These have all been possible because of Christ and His grace upon us. As we look back we praise Him for all He has done and we exclaim “The Best is Yet to Come!”
